Resourcing Edge Review, an independent broker's honest assessment.

Resourcing Edge is a Texas-rooted regional PEO that has been a subsidiary of OneDigital since March 2022, which makes it the right answer in one specific case: an SMB of 10 to 150 employees that already uses OneDigital as its benefits broker and wants the PEO under the same parent. It holds CPEO certification and ESAC accreditation, but its scale is modest, so its master medical leverage is thinner than the national PEOs' and the comparison usually turns on that line.

Quick verdict: the TL;DR.

Our score
3.5/5
A CPEO plus ESAC stack and a sound service model are solid for the tier; the score is held by thinner medical leverage than larger PEOs and a narrow set of cases where the OneDigital integration is the deciding factor.
Best for
Texas and regional SMBs of 10 to 150 employees, especially existing OneDigital benefits clients that want brokerage and PEO from one parent.
Worst for
Companies that need top-tier master health plan buying power, tech-first buyers, and employers outside OneDigital's orbit with no reason to consolidate.

We've placed clients with Resourcing Edge across multiple industries and headcounts. The assessment below reflects what actually happens in real engagements, not what the Resourcing Edge sales deck says happens, not what the affiliate review sites report based on commission spreads, and not what aggregated G2 stars suggest.

Company background: Resourcing Edge.

Resourcing Edge was founded in 2003 and has operated since March 2022 as a subsidiary of OneDigital, the national insurance brokerage. It serves roughly 20,000 worksite employees on its own, and OneDigital's PEO arm as a whole serves more than 62,000. By either count it is a regional PEO, not a national one, and its core market is Texas and the surrounding region.

The OneDigital ownership is the fact that matters. OneDigital is a benefits broker with national distribution; Resourcing Edge is its PEO. A company that already buys its benefits through OneDigital can bring payroll, HR and co-employment under the same parent, which simplifies the relationship. A company with no OneDigital connection is choosing a smaller regional PEO on its own merits, and should compare it that way.

Resourcing Edge holds IRS CPEO certification and ESAC accreditation. CPEO status transfers federal employment tax liability to the PEO and carries the wage base over on a mid-year start; ESAC puts a bonded financial assurance program behind the PEO's obligations. Fewer than seven percent of PEOs hold both, and for a PEO of this size it is a meaningful credential stack.

Pricing: what to expect.

Resourcing Edge quotes per client as a PEPM fee and does not publish a rate. The inputs are the usual ones: headcount, states, workers' compensation class codes and the benefits census. Read the proposal in three layers, as with any PEO. Wages and employer payroll taxes are pass-through and not the PEO's money. Medical and workers' comp premiums move with your census and class codes. The administrative fee is Resourcing Edge's own price. Compare the second and third layers against the other quotes and leave the first out.

Where the comparison is decided is medical. With roughly 20,000 worksite employees, Resourcing Edge's master health plan leverage is thinner than the top-ten PEOs', and the company does not claim otherwise. In our experience the national PEOs typically have better master health plan rates, so a company whose main goal is a lower medical renewal should run the comparison against at least one large PEO before assuming the OneDigital relationship outweighs the medical line.

Contracts are annual. Confirm notice and exit terms before signing, and if you are also a OneDigital brokerage client, ask how the two relationships interact at renewal and on exit so that leaving the PEO does not disturb the brokerage arrangement or the reverse.

Strengths: what Resourcing Edge does well.

Benefits brokerage and PEO under one parent

This is the distinctive case for Resourcing Edge. A client already working with OneDigital as its benefits broker can consolidate the PEO relationship under the same parent, with one accountable organization for benefits strategy and co-employment. For a company that values a single relationship, that is the reason to look.

OneDigital's national distribution behind a regional PEO

Resourcing Edge is regional, but its parent is a national insurance brokerage. That backing matters for stability and for access to brokerage resources that a standalone PEO of 20,000 worksite employees would not have.

CPEO and ESAC

Both credentials, which many PEOs of this size do not carry. A compliance-sensitive buyer gets the federal tax liability shift and the bonded financial assurance without having to go to a national PEO for them.

A service model rated well for the tier

Our directory rates Resourcing Edge's service at the upper end for a regional PEO, and its industries, professional services, healthcare, construction and manufacturing, are the ones a Texas SMB is most likely to be in.

Considerations: the things to weigh.

We frame these as considerations rather than negatives because most are real trade-offs rather than disqualifying flaws, but they are things we make sure clients understand before signing.

Thinner master medical leverage

Roughly 20,000 worksite employees is a small base compared with the top-ten PEOs, and medical pricing scales with the base. This is the line most likely to lose a comparison for Resourcing Edge, and the reason we run a national PEO beside it whenever medical is the client's priority.

Less brand recognition than national peers

Outside Texas and the OneDigital client base, Resourcing Edge is not a well-known name. That affects references and peer familiarity rather than quality, but ask for references in your industry and state.

Less independent since the acquisition

A subsidiary makes decisions within its parent's strategy. For a OneDigital client that alignment is the point; for anyone else it is worth understanding how the PEO's priorities and product roadmap are set.

The fit: who should and shouldn't pick Resourcing Edge.

Good fit for Resourcing Edge

  • +Texas and regional SMBs of 10 to 150 employees
  • +Companies already using OneDigital as their benefits broker
  • +Employers that want one parent accountable for benefits strategy and co-employment
  • +Buyers who require CPEO certification and ESAC accreditation at a regional PEO

Bad fit for Resourcing Edge

  • −Companies whose priority is top-tier master health plan buying power
  • −Tech-first buyers who evaluate a PEO by its platform
  • −Employers outside Texas and the surrounding region with no OneDigital relationship
  • −Companies over 150 employees

Frequently asked questions Resourcing Edge.

Is Resourcing Edge a certified PEO?

Yes. Resourcing Edge holds IRS CPEO certification and ESAC accreditation, a combination fewer than seven percent of PEOs carry.

What size company is Resourcing Edge best for?

Resourcing Edge positions for 10 to 150 employees, and the fit is strongest for a Texas or regional SMB that already works with OneDigital.

Where does Resourcing Edge operate?

Its core market is Texas and the surrounding region. It serves roughly 20,000 worksite employees, with OneDigital's PEO arm serving more than 62,000 in total.

Does Resourcing Edge publish pricing?

No. It quotes per client as a PEPM fee.

What is the main consideration with Resourcing Edge?

Scale. Its worksite employee base is smaller than the top-ten PEOs', so its master medical leverage is thinner, and the national PEOs typically have better master health plan rates. Compare the medical line directly.

How does Resourcing Edge compare to G&A Partners?

Both are Texas-based PEOs with CPEO and ESAC. G&A is independent, far larger and built around named HR consultants and compliance depth; Resourcing Edge is a OneDigital subsidiary whose case is strongest when you already use OneDigital for benefits. Run both when medical pricing matters.

Who owns Resourcing Edge?

OneDigital, the national insurance brokerage, which acquired it in March 2022. Resourcing Edge is OneDigital's PEO, so clients can hold benefits brokerage and co-employment under one parent.
